In offering his services as a cultural resource management consultant, Bruce Stewart combines his formal training in archaeology - a Bachelor's Degree (Honours) from the University of Calgary and a Master's Degree from Wilfrid Laurier University - with over twenty-four years of practical experience in cultural resource management and a strong personal commitment to the investigation, interpretation and management of cultural heritage.

In October 1998, Bruce incorporated Cultural Resource Management Group Limited, an archaeological consulting and management firm based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Utilizing a national base of associates and contract staff, CRM Group has undertaken a series of projects for public and private sector clients in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Ontario.

Projects include the following:

• cultural heritage resource impact assessment for natural gas distribution system throughout Nova Scotia (Sempra Atlantic)
  
• the preparation of an archaeological master plan (City of Windsor)
  
• archaeological testing of two culturally sensitive Native sites within the flood-zone of a hydroelectric reservoir (NSPI)
  
• archaeological resource inventory for a proposed mine site (BPB Gypsum)
  
• an archaeological impact assessment for the twinning of Highway 125 in Cape Breton Regional Municipality (NSDOTPW)
  
• archaeological monitoring of construction on the Canaan River crossing of the Fredericton-Moncton Highway (MRDC)
  
• the mitigative excavation of two significant historic sites in Barrington, Nova Scotia (NSDOTPW)
  
• the assessment and testing of several subdivision and recreational developments in central and southwestern Ontario (Dillon Consulting Limited)
